However, within a couple weeks, the U.S. The optimistic side of me thinks that maybe this will assist defenders because while there is an incoming wave of vulnerabilities already starting to arrive, it also seems possible that the same technology could help with vulnerability management and prioritizing remediations and patches in a more strategic way than human operators have been able to do so far.
It wasn’t surprising to me that AI is achieving some of the things Mythos outlines because I attended DEFCON last year and DARPA has been developing — or nurturing — younger talent and newer researchers to improve their capabilities in detecting AI vulnerabilities over the past two or three years. For organizations equipped with sufficient resources, the present is an opportune time to gather information and engage vendors regarding defensive AI capabilities—without yet committing to any purchases but keeping abreast of what’s possible and how your organization can effectively utilize AI in a protective manner.
