Even though AI integration is getting a lot of attention around the world, cybersecurity experts are still very important. Cybersecurity teams have a great chance right now to make sure that businesses use new technologies that will help them grow and become more productive. We put people, processes, and technology first when making cybersecurity plans.
Dr. Shawn Murray, co-chair of the ISSA AIM committee and former president of the ISSA Board of Trustees, says, "Let's use machines to automate many problems, but don't forget about the people who are important for staying ahead of the attackers." We also saw a few trends that had to do with AI: - Most people think that AI makes cybersecurity harder for them because bad people can use it to launch bigger and stronger attacks.
A lot of cybersecurity experts say they need AI in their programs to stay one step ahead of the criminals who might use it. There is a growing need for people with cybersecurity skills. Even so, the people who answered said that some level of human intervention was still needed.
As these products get better quickly, security teams will feel more comfortable using agents with less help from people. But at first, these tools will still need to be watched over by people. To use agent-based AI solutions effectively, security teams need to improve their skills in evaluating, deploying, and using them. The RSAC 2026 Conference is very important for cybersecurity professionals to learn about the best tools and strategies for doing their jobs well.
It was exciting to share some important results from our ISSA study at RSA, where I saw security product innovations, better cybersecurity training, networking opportunities, and mentorship programs all working together. Soon, we will share full results with suggestions for cybersecurity experts. In the future, I will keep you updated on my research about how to manage risk for safe enterprise AI adoption.
This will look into how security tools can help cybersecurity teams do their jobs better.
