Russian police arrested the person who is said to be the administrator of the LeakBase cybercrime forum, according to state media on Thursday. The suspect is said to have been arrested for running a criminal website since 2021 that let people trade stolen personal databases. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the forum was one of the biggest places in the world for cybercriminals to buy and sell stolen data and tools for cybercrime.
The forum was made by a hacker who goes by the names Chucky, beakdaz, Chuckies, Sqlrip, KELA, and TriTrace. Investigators have linked Chucky to a 33-year-old man from Taganrog.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs says that as of December 2025, the platform had more than 142,000 members and more than 215,000 messages between them. Earlier this month, law enforcement shut down the site and saved all of the forum's content, including users' accounts, posts, credit card information, private messages, and IP logs, for use as evidence.
