A new espionage campaign has been revealed by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU or SSU). It entails enlisting young Ukrainians for illegal activities under the pretense of "quest games." According to law enforcement, two FSB agent groups were apprehended after a special operation in Kharkiv. The announcement coincides with a warning from Ukraine's Computer Emergency Response Team about a fresh wave of cyberattacks targeted at the nation's defense firms.
A Russian-affiliated actor known as UAC-0185 has been identified as the source of the intrusions. Part 2 of Article 113 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, which deals with sabotage during martial law, has charged him in absentia. Additionally, the SSU disclosed that "all members of the enemy groups" who were discovered taking pictures of air defense facilities have been detained.
One of the organizers has been arrested and could spend the rest of his life behind bars. An FSB "liaison" is also charged in relation to the endeavors.
